Quick Start Guide
Everything you need to know about your stream overlay tools β from setup to streaming.
MediaCast Suite is a collection of six tools designed for card streamers, resellers, and small businesses who want a professional-looking OBS overlay without code, plugins, or design experience. Each tool produces a self-contained file (or hosted URL) that drops directly into OBS as a browser source.
Welcome β start here
Open suite.icyvault.com in your browser. You'll see the Suite's header with six tabs at the top: Rotator, Live, Spotlight, Frame Builder, Text, and IVIT. Each tab is a separate tool.
Sign in with Google or create an account with an email and password. Once your account is created, enter your license key (sent to you in your purchase email) and you'll have access to whichever tools your license covers.
Check your inbox for an email from orders@icyvault.com. If you can't find it, reach out to info@icyvault.com and we'll resend it.
Smooth scrolling card strip β your inventory rolling across the stream as a clean banner.
Hosted version of Rotator. Edit cards from any device and OBS updates instantly.

Wrap card images in custom frames and borders β apply your brand consistently across builds.
Stacked text signs for BRB screens, "Starting Soon," social handles, anything.
Inventory tracker built specifically for card resellers.
Rotator
Rotator is a downloadable HTML file that plays a smooth, looping card rotation as an OBS browser source. Drag your cards in, customize the look, export the file, and drop it into OBS. The file is self-contained β no plugins, no external dependencies, runs offline.
Use Rotator if you want a one-time setup and your inventory doesn't change much during your stream. Use Live (see below) if you want to edit cards in real time during your stream without re-exporting and reloading the OBS source.
Adding cards
Click the + Add images button (or drag image files directly onto the tray). You can add multiple at once. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP. Each card you add appears in the strip in the order you selected them.
Reordering, hiding, and removing
- Reorder: click and drag any card in the tray. The strip preview updates as you drag.
- Hide: click the eye icon on any card to temporarily hide it from the strip without deleting it. Useful for cards you only show during specific streams.
- Delete: the X or trash icon removes a card permanently.
Per-card tags
Each card can have up to two small text labels overlaid on it β these are called tags. Common uses:
- Price: "$45"
- Quantity available: "3 LEFT" / "QTY: 5" / "LAST ONE"
- Condition: "PSA 10" / "NM" / "MINT"
- Highlight: "NEW" / "RARE" / "ON SALE"
A common two-tag pairing is Price + Quantity β buyers see both at a glance. For graded slabs, try Condition + Price.
Strip settings (right panel)
The settings panel on the right controls how the strip behaves and looks:
- Speed: how fast the strip scrolls. Higher = faster.
- Direction: right-to-left or left-to-right.
- Gap: spacing between cards. Tighter for a packed look, wider for a relaxed pace.
- Background: solid color or transparent (recommended β lets the strip stack cleanly over any scene in OBS).
- Label: the optional banner text on the strip (e.g. "ENGLISH POKEMON"). Full typography control β font, color, stroke, shadow, glow.
Tag styling
In the settings panel, the Tag styling section controls how the two tag slots look β independently. You can set the position (top-left, top-right, center, etc.), font, size, color, background, opacity, padding, and corner radius for each slot. Style once, apply to all cards.
Exporting and adding to OBS
Step 1 β Export the HTML file
When you're happy with the look, click the Export button. A self-contained HTML file downloads to your computer. All your card images are embedded in the file β no separate folder needed.
Step 2 β Add a browser source in OBS
- In OBS, click the + under Sources
- Choose Browser
- Name it anything ("Rotator", "Card Strip", etc.) and click OK
- Check "Local file" and browse to your downloaded HTML file
- Set Width to 1920 and Height to 354 β this matches the default strip height with no extra empty space. If you changed the strip height in the editor, use that number instead.
- Click OK
Step 3 β Position it on your stream
Drag the rotator wherever you want it in your scene. Most people put it at the top or bottom as a banner. You can resize, but it's calibrated for 1920px wide, so keep that width for the sharpest image.
You can set Width Γ Height to 1920 Γ 1080 if you prefer. The strip renders at its proper height inside that area with transparent space above and below. Works fine but uses more pixels than needed β most people prefer 1920 Γ 354 for a cleaner setup.
Updating your rotator
When your inventory changes: open the Rotator builder, make your edits, click Export again, and replace the file on disk. In OBS, right-click the browser source β Refresh cache. The new version loads.
That's exactly what Live is for. With Live, you skip the export step entirely β edits show up in OBS instantly, no refresh.
Live LIVE
Live is the cloud-hosted version of Rotator. Your rotators live on our servers; your OBS browser source connects to a permanent URL. Edit a card on your laptop or phone β it appears in OBS instantly. No refresh, no file swap, no stream interruption.
Live is a $4.99/month subscription with a 7-day free trial. Sign in to your Suite, click the Live tab, and the pitch screen will walk you through the trial.
Setting up your first rotator
Step 1 β Copy your rotator's URL
The first time you open Live, you get a default rotator named "Default" with a unique permanent URL. At the top of the editor you'll see "OBS browser source β" followed by your URL and a copy button. Click copy.
Step 2 β Add a browser source in OBS
- In OBS, click the + under Sources
- Choose Browser, name it "Live Rotator," click OK
- Paste the URL you copied into the URL field
- Width: 1920, Height: 354
- Click OK
Step 3 β Add cards and customize
The Live editor works almost identically to Rotator. Add cards, drag-reorder, set tags, customize the label and tag styling. Every change flows to OBS within a fraction of a second.
Multiple rotators
Live gives you up to 10 independent rotators, each with its own URL, its own cards, and its own settings. Useful for selling different categories β English, Japanese, slabs, sealed, sports, etc.
To create a new rotator, click the + button next to the rotator tabs at the top of the editor. Name it, copy its URL, add it as a separate browser source in OBS for the scene where it belongs.
Right-click (or tap the menu) on any rotator tab and choose Duplicate. The new rotator inherits all the styling β speed, gap, label, tag positioning β with a fresh URL and empty card tray. Build your look once, replicate it across categories.
Editing live during stream
Open Live on a second monitor, your phone, or your stream computer's secondary browser. Tweak anything:
- Drag a card to a new position
- Hide a sold card with the eye icon
- Edit a tag to update a price
- Change strip speed, direction, gap, colors
- Swap the label text mid-stream when you change product categories
Every action shows up in OBS in real time. No refresh, no source reload.
The plan, in plain English
What you get
- Up to 10 rotators per account
- Up to 250 cards per rotator
- 500 MB total card storage (uploads auto-optimized)
- Hosted OBS URLs (one per rotator, permanent)
- Edit from any device
- Saved Styles + colorway library shared with other builders
14-day idle auto-pause
If you don't sign in for 14 days, your rotators auto-pause. Paused means the rotator stops appearing in OBS, websites, or any browser source using its URL β it just goes blank until you come back. Your saved work is fully preserved during the pause. Sign back in to resume; same URL, same OBS source, no reconfiguration.
Cancellation
Cancel anytime through Square. After you cancel, you keep access through the end of your current billing cycle. After that, the rotator stops appearing in OBS, but your saved work stays in your account in case you ever come back.
Spotlight
Spotlight is for showcasing one card at a time with attention-grabbing animations and effects. Perfect for break reveals, hit pulls, "now available" features, or any moment when you want to draw the audience's eye to a single card instead of a strip.
Setting up a spotlight
- Open the Spotlight tab
- Upload the card image you want to feature (drag-drop or click Add)
- Choose a reveal animation β slide-in, fade, zoom, etc.
- Customize the label text (e.g. "JUST PULLED", "FEATURED LISTING", "NEW ARRIVAL")
- Set background, glow, and aura effects to match your brand
- Click Export β download the self-contained HTML file
Adding to OBS
Same browser-source pattern as Rotator: add a Browser source in OBS, point it to the downloaded file, set the dimensions (typically 1920 Γ 1080 for a Spotlight since it occupies more screen real estate).
Tips for great spotlights
- Use high-resolution card images. Spotlight cards are large on screen, so a crisp image matters more here than in a small Rotator thumbnail.
- Match the label style to your brand. The Saved Styles library shares across builders β if you've built your brand label in Rotator or Text, apply it here too with one click.
- Set up multiple Spotlights for different occasions. One for hit pulls, one for new listings, one for daily features. Build each in the Spotlight tab, export each as a separate file, set up each as its own OBS source.
Frame Builder
Frame Builder wraps any card image with a custom themed frame β your colors, your brand, your style. Generate matching frames in bulk and apply them across your Rotator, Spotlight, and Live builds for a consistent look across your entire stream.
How it works
- Upload a card image into the Frame Builder
- Customize the frame: colors, border thickness, corner radius, gradients, inner glow, drop shadow
- Watch the live preview update as you adjust settings
- Click Export to download the framed image as a PNG
Bulk frame generation
If you have a folder of card images and want to frame them all with the same style:
- Set up your frame styling on a single test card first
- Use the Batch mode to load a folder of images
- Apply the styled frame to every image
- Download the entire batch as a zip
Frame all your inventory photos in Frame Builder, then use the framed PNGs as your cards in Rotator or Live. Result: a perfectly consistent visual style across your entire scrolling strip.
Text
Text is for those clean stacked-text signs you see on streamer overlays β "BE RIGHT BACK", "STARTING SOON", "STREAM ENDS AT 10PM", social handles, you name it. 16 preset templates to start from, full typography control, exports as a single HTML file you drop into OBS.
Choosing a preset
When you open the Text tab, you'll see 16 preset templates along the side. Each is a complete styled sign β different fonts, colors, layouts, effects. Click one to load it as your starting point.
Customizing
- Text content: edit each line of text β typically two or three stacked words
- Font: dozens of options, from clean sans-serifs to bold display fonts
- Color, stroke, glow, shadow: full control over how the text looks
- Saved Styles: match the style you've used in Rotator or Spotlight in one click
- Background: transparent (recommended) or solid color
Common use cases
- BRB screens: "BE RIGHT BACK" with your social handle below
- Starting Soon: "STARTING SOON" with countdown or timezone
- Now Playing: band/album name during music breaks
- Featured product: "RIPPING NOW: BLISTER PACKS" β pair with a Spotlight
- Social cards: "FOLLOW US @ICYVAULT" β clean, branded
Exporting
Click Export, download the HTML file, add it to OBS as a Browser source. For Text signs, 1920 Γ 1080 is a good default β they're often shown full-screen on BRB or intermission scenes.
IVIT
IVIT is the inventory tracker β designed for card resellers, not generic inventory software. Track quantities, costs, and sale prices for everything you sell. Free with any Suite license.
Adding items
Click Add item, fill in the fields:
- Name: the product name (e.g. "Charizard Promo")
- Quantity: how many you have
- Cost: what you paid per unit
- Sale price: what you're charging
- Category, condition, notes: optional metadata
Tracking sales
When you sell something, log it in IVIT β decrement the quantity, record the actual sale price. IVIT keeps a running tally of:
- Total inventory value (cost basis)
- Total expected revenue (current quantities Γ sale prices)
- Sales history (what sold, when, for how much)
- Profit per item and overall
Exporting reports
For taxes, accounting, or just personal records, export your IVIT data as a CSV. Drop it into Excel, Google Sheets, or hand it to your accountant.
IVIT data is stored in your account on our servers. Only you can see it. We never share your inventory data with anyone β it's your business, not ours.
π¨ Saved Styles & Colorways
The Saved Styles system is shared across every builder in the Suite (Rotator, Live, Spotlight, Frame Builder, Text). Build your brand label styling once β choose your font, color, stroke, glow, shadow β save it with a name, and apply it anywhere with one click.
Saving a style
- In any builder, set up your label text styling exactly how you want it
- Click the π¨ Styles button in the top-right header of the Suite
- Click Save current style and give it a name (e.g. "Icy Vault Brand", "Sale Banner", "Featured Listing")
- The style appears in your library
Applying a saved style
From any builder, open the Styles popover, click the style name. The current label adopts that style instantly.
Colorway presets
Inside the label color picker, click the Colorways button to open a library of 32 preset color combinations β fills, strokes, and shadow colors curated to look good together. Tap a preset and your label adopts it. Great when you don't want to fiddle with hex codes.
Common questions & troubleshooting
"My OBS browser source is blank."
- For downloadable builds (Rotator, Spotlight, Frame Builder, Text): make sure the file is at the path you specified in OBS. If you moved it, the source breaks.
- For Live: make sure you copied the URL from the Live editor (starts with
https://mediacast-live-production.up.railway.app/r/). If your account has been idle 14+ days, your Live rotator may be paused β sign in to resume. - In OBS, right-click the browser source β Refresh cache. Sometimes OBS holds onto an old version of a file.
- Make sure your content has at least one visible card (eye icon enabled).
"My Live edits aren't showing up in OBS."
Check the status indicator in the Live editor. It should read "live" in green. If it says "reconnectingβ¦" or "signing inβ¦" wait a few seconds. If it stays stuck, refresh the Suite tab.
"How do I move my Suite to a new computer?"
You don't need to. Your account is in the cloud. Sign in to suite.icyvault.com from any computer with your same email and license, and everything is exactly where you left it.
"Can I use the Suite on my phone?"
Yes β fully responsive. The smaller screen makes complex edits a bit fiddly, but it's totally workable for adding cards, swapping tags, or making quick tweaks while you're on the go. Especially handy with Live, where you can update your stream rotator from your phone.
"Can I share my rotator URL with my followers?"
Technically yes β Live URLs are public (no password). Anyone with the URL can view your rotator. If you want to embed your inventory on your sales website, you can iframe the URL there too. Since you're already streaming the content, sharing it isn't a privacy concern.
"What happens if I cancel my Live subscription?"
You keep access until the end of your current billing cycle (you've paid for the month, you get to use the month). After that, your rotator stops appearing in OBS, but your saved work stays in your account. Resubscribe anytime and everything is exactly where you left it.
"Can I share my account with someone?"
Suite licenses are tied to a single user account. Don't share login credentials β it's against our terms, and if multiple devices sign in simultaneously, things can get confusing fast (especially with Live, which connects to one editor at a time). If you need multiple accounts for a team, reach out and we'll work something out.
"I have feedback or a feature request."
Email info@icyvault.com. We read everything. Many features in the Suite started as a buyer suggestion.
That's the whole Suite. Each tool is designed to do one thing well and to play nicely with the others.
Happy streaming. β
